A day in the life of Key Stage 2

A Typical Day in Year 3
8:50am Mrs Quinn will come out to the yard to collect the children. Attendance and dinner registers taken.
9:05-9:30am -  SPaG (Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar) and handwriting session. 
9:30-10:30am - English time. 
10:30-10:45am - Whole School BREAKTIME. Year 3 take their snack and milk outside!
10:45-11:15am - Whole Class Teaching of Reading KS2
11.15-12.00pm - Maths time.
12.00-1pm - LUNCHTIME whole school.
1:00-1:15pm - Reading for Pleasure in class 
1:15-3:00pm - Afternoon - topics and foundation subjects. 
3:00-3:15pm - Whole School Assembly 
3:20pm - Hometime
On a Friday 2:45pm is celebration assembly in the hall!! We love to celebrate our fab learning, kindness and achievements in year 3. 
Topics we will be covering in Year 3 range from The Stone Age, Egyptians, Ancient Greece, Rocks, Light and Dark and incorporating our over arching themes of 'aspirations', 'sustainability' and 'equality' into all aspects of our curriculum in Year 3.

8:50am Mr Peddie opens the class door and welcomes the children into the classroom. Attendance and dinner registers taken.
8:50am - 9:05am Quizzing - a chance to revisit and consolidate key learning from previous days and weeks
9:05am - 9:30am Handwriting/Spelling/SPAG practice
9:30am - 10:30am English 
10:30am - 10:45am  BREAKTIME (children take their milk & fruit outside)
10:45am - 11:15am Whole Class Reading / Reading Skills
11:15am - 12:00pm Maths 
12:00pm - 1:00pm LUNCHTIME
1:00pm Afternoon Register
1:00pm - 1:15pm Story Time - Class Novel 
1.15pm-3.00pm - Afternoon lessons (Geography/History, Music, RE, PSCHE, Science, PE, Computing, Art & Design, D&T)
